This is the newest model in the Autel lineup of OBDII diagnostic scan tools. This Bidirectional control scan tool is the next step up from the 808 series. It includes several new features that the previous 808 series does not have. The new features include Wifi printing, Pre & Post scan, and license plate and VIN# scanning, etc. This new model has a 8 inch screen, (larger than the 7″ found on the 808) a 7700mAh battery (larger than the 5000mAh batter with the 808) and it also includes an 8 megapixel camera and flash. (the 808 series never had a camera or a flash) In this video I was asked to focus on the new software features that I mentioned earlier. In my opinion, Autel scan tools are hard to beat and they are my personal favorite of all the scan tool brands on the market. However, these new software features such as VIN# / License plate scanning need a bit more refinement before I could take them as serious features. I know Autel will get them perfected and when they do, these features will be a great addition to their scan tool line-up. However, right now they seem unreliable and they are a novelty, at best.
Bottom line – This is one of the best scan tools money can buy right now, in my opinion. If you’re looking for a pro level scan tool with a great reputation then look no further. The way I see it…. this is a top of the line scan tool that just happens to also have some new (extra) software installed, (VIN / plate scan) that I didn’t really need in the first place, so if that extra software isn’t working properly yet, it’s not a big deal because I would have purchased this tool even if that extra software was not installed. And honestly, I don’t know many guys who use their scan tools tablet to manage their customer / vehicle information anyway. Sure, some guys do, but most shops use a proper computer with software designed for running an auto repair business. To each his own.
This scan tool is awesome when used as a scan tool. One of the best! All that other software fluff is a novelty….. in my opinion anyway!

The OTOFIX D1 Lite OBDII bidirectional scan tool is powered by Autel. In fact, the OTOFIX brand is owned and sold by Autel/ The scan tool uses 100% Autel diagnostic software. This D1 Lite works and looks just like an Autel 808 scanner, but the hardware is slimmer and lighter weight. Not only do you get the Autel scan tool software in this device, but you get it at a cheaper price than buying it in an Autel device. You also get 2 years of free Autel updates (instead of one year if you buy an Autel scan tool) and the once the free update period update has ended, the updates themselves are cheaper than if this was an Autel scan tool. You get 100% Autel software and service but at a lower price. There really is no negatives to buying an OTOFIX device over an Autel device, but there are many positives. As mention in this video, until recently, I would tell people about a different brand/model of scan tool that was in the “sweet spot” for scan tools when comparing price vs overall functionality. Well, in my opinion, this OTOFIX D1 Lite has just taken over that “sweet spot”. This device is REALLY hard to beat.

I also has a quicker processor, along with 4X the amount of ram compared to previous 808 models. The software in this new tool has been optimized to run smoother and faster on that new hardware. This is a full bidirectional control scanner. The new hardware and software combined with all of it’s features and diagnostic capabilities makes this one of the best scan tools on the market today, in my opinion. And best of all, it’s an Autel!…. No scan tool is perfect, but Autel scanners seem to work in most cases where other scan tools can really struggle.
BEWARE: The previous 808 scan tools with their decade old operating system, and slower processors with barely enough RAM are still readily sold all over the internet today. Don’t be fooled. Most of these internet sales listings on various sites will CLAIM “New Version, 2023” etc…. But really, these are usually “new old stock” scan tools that have been in stock in various warehouses all around the world waiting for people to buy them. Then, once someone buys one of these older scan tools, the new owner will do a software update (because updates are included for 1 year) and instantly this older scan tool with SEEM new because it has the most current software….. However, it’s still running on the old operating system, and still has the slower processor with 4X less RAM. If you’re in the market for an Autel 808, this new MP808Z-BT is probably the model to get!

The Autel MP808Z-TS is a brand new model for 2023. You basically get a pro level bidirectional scan tool, along with a full feature TPMS tool all rolled into the same device. The TPMS functionality of this tool is equal to the MaxiTPMS TS608 stand alone TPMS tool, which is roughly 600 bucks (give or take) if you had to buy that tool by itself. The new hardware and software combined with all of it’s features between the diagnostic capabilities, and the TPMS capabilities, makes this one of the best scan tools on the market today, in my opinion. And best of all, it’s an Autel!…. No scan tool is perfect, but Autel tools seem to work in most cases where other scan tools can really struggle.
