OTOFIX BT1 Lite Smart Battery Tester – Test and Review. Powered by Autel

OTOFIX BT1 Lite Smart Battery Tester – Test and Review. Powered by Autel

The OTOFIX BT1 Lite Smart Battery tester is powered by Autel. In fact, the OTOFIX company is owned by Autel and uses all Autel software and firmware. This device is designed to be used along with an OTOFIX OBD2 scan tool, or you can download the Autel battery tester app and use this battery tester along with your smart device. (phone or tablet) The Autel version of this same product is called the Autel BT506. In this video, I give a demonstration of how to use this device. The Autel battery software generates a nice test report that can be saved via PDF format and then it can be shared via email, or with a QR code via cloud service. (no charge) The battery report can also be printed directly from you scan tool or smart phone if you have wireless printing setup on your local network.

(Spoiler alert: The OTOFIX version of this battery tester is MUCH cheaper than the same battery tester in the Autel version…. at least it was at the time this video was uploaded)

Generator Accessory Power Distribution Box With Electric Meters, Extension Cord, Spider Box

Generator Accessory Power Distribution Box With Electric Meters, Extension Cord, Spider Box

In this video I show the portable generator accessory power distribution box (some people call them a “spider box”) that I built to use along with my 240 volt GENMAX GM9000iED inverter generator. This can be used as a stand alone distribution box plugged directly into the generator, or at the end of a 25′, 50,’ 75′, or 100′ extension cord…. like maybe at a camp site, for example. OR, it can be plugged into the generator, then a 240 volt 30 amp extension cord plugged into the other end of the box which can be plugged into the inlet box on the back of my house to power my entire electric panel during power outages. The electric meters on the box show any and all power that is being fed through the box…. either through the outlets on the box itself AND through the 240 twist lock extension cord outlet on the top of the box. This way, when it’s powering my house, I can monitor the total power be consumed from the generator.

I am not in production of this electrical accessory. I made this for myself, for personal use only. This was built to fit MY wants and needs. I am not telling anyone they should build one for themself, nor am I telling anyone they should copy my design.

Thanks for watching.

TB6000Pro Battery Charger, Tester, Maintainer, Desulfator, Power Supply, BlueTooth. NEW. TOPDON

The Brand New TOPDON TB6000Pro is an automotive (car or truck) 12 volt battery charger, battery tester, battery maintainer, battery desulfator, and power supply. The device is controlled via Bluetooth from you mobile device. (Apple or Android) This thing is super cool! The app gives you almost infinite control over the battery charger. It has more features and functions than we’ve ever had in the past on a battery charger or battery tester. The device can be controlled by itself, without the app if need be but with limited control. This is designed to be controlled from the TB6000Pro app. This device does battery testing, vehicle charge testing, and vehicle crank testing, along with “smart charging” and “quick charging”. The app also lets you create your own charging profile in “expert mode” instead of using a preset charging profile. All test results can easily be saved with the click of a button. This thing is REALLY Cool! I had no idea how cool this thing was until I actually started using it. If you’re looking for an automotive battery charger that is new with a bunch of modern technology built in, this might be the device for you! This just might be the newest, best and certainly the coolest battery charger on the market? what do you think? Leave a comment below…

TOPDON Phoenix Lite 2 Bidirectional Control and Live Data

TOPDON Phoenix Lite 2 Bidirectional Control and Live Data. Special functions, Actuation tests, and Live data stream

In this video I take a closer look at the special function, actuation tests, and live data pids on this scan tool using a modern test vehicle, a 2022 Kia K5. The test vehicle in my previous video featuring the TOPDON Phoenix Lite 2 was a 2006 GMC full size truck. There is a big difference in the amount of overall data pids and bidirectional control between that older vehicle and a brand new car. BIG difference!

My previous TOPDON Phoenix Lite 2 video that give a complete overview of this scan tool can be found here: https://youtu.be/KUL7bFuvFp0

After trying this for a few days it quickly became on of my favorite OBD2 diagnostic tools. It is very easy to use, it has all the functionality that I want and need, and it’s price point makes it one of the best values on the entire scan tool market. Not only does it have ALL the functionality, it comes with 2 years of free software and firmware updates, at a price that can not be beat.

TOPDON PHOENIX LITE 2 Specs:
• Includes one year manufacturer warranty
• Includes two years free software and firmware updates
• After the two years of free updates, the updates will cost $430 per year (The price was lowered since the video was recorded)
• Updates are NOT required to continue using the scan tool at its current software level
• 8″ high-resolution LCD screen
• 12600mAh battery
• 4-core 2.0Ghz
• 2GB Ram / 32GB Rom (storage)
• Supports FCA Gateway Access
• Wireless Bluetooth Vehicle Connection Interface

How To – Quick Electrical Wiring Tip

How To – Quick Electrical Wiring Tip

I show a quick wiring tip for working with stranded THHN, or any stranded primary electrical wire. This how-to trick makes it easy to handle stranded wire and to keep everything neat and tidy. It’s real easy to turn your stranded wire into a birds nest when making screw connections. This wiring tip helps to prevent the birds nest. This tip was taught to me by a friend of mine about 20 years ago while I was wiring my shop. It was taught to him back when he was an apprentice by the master electrician he was working with at that time. This tip is no secret, it’s been around a long time, but I haven’t seen anyone mention it on YouTube yet (I’m sure someone has, I just haven’t seen it) so I figured a quick video showing this trick might be helpful for someone, some day….
