VDIAGTOOL V200 Circuit Probe Tester Review Similar to Power Probe III
In this video I look at the VDIAGTOOL V200 Circuit Prob Tester…. which is very similar to the POWER PROBE III automotive electrical tester. I have experience with the Power Probe III and I can say this tool does the same work with the same features for roughly half the price of the PB3. (as of this video, early August 2023) If you do any automotive electrical work then you should probably have this tool in your tool box. It’s excellent for trailer wiring.
Micro air easy start install on carrier AC unit with Genmax 9000 inverter generator
In this video I explain (and show) how to install a Micro Air Easy Start soft starter on my Carrier A/C condensing unit. The air conditioner in this video is only a 1.5 ton unit but it’s locked rotor amp rating is still fairly high at 48 amps. That is a lot of inrush current to over come for portable generators that are being used as a stand by generator. Or even for a solar power battery bank and inverter system. It’s very hard to start A/C systems when NOT using grid power. The Micro Air easy starter lowered my inrush amperage from 47 amps down to 15-16 amps for startup current. Not bad at all! Once I am finished with showing you the installation that i did, I then connect my Genmax 9000 inverter generator that I use for backup power when the grid goes down in my area. The 9000 Genmax is a little bit overkill for my needs now that I have the Micro Air Easy starter installed but having extra power is never a bad thing in my opinion. I can now have the eco throttle ON when running my generator to keep fuel consumption and noise levels down while running my AC. The Genmax 9000 barely makes a burp when my air conditioner starts up and then instantly goes back to idle. This Genmax 9000IED generator is a beast when paired with a Micro Air easy Start. It’s a great combination that’s hard to beat!
An article about the Micro Air easy Starter:
The Micro Air Easy Start has emerged as a game-changer in the air conditioning industry, specifically designed to address the challenges of starting and running AC systems using generators and solar power banks. This innovative device offers improved efficiency, reduced energy consumption, and an enhanced user experience. In this article, we explore the technical specifications and features of the Micro Air Easy Start, highlighting its significant impact on air conditioning technology and its role in enabling AC systems to operate efficiently with alternative power sources.
Reducing Inrush Amperage for Generator and Solar Power Compatibility: The Micro Air Easy Start was originally invented to solve the problem of high inrush amperage when starting air conditioning systems. Traditional AC units draw a significant surge of current during startup, which can overload generators or strain solar power banks. The Easy Start addresses this issue by significantly reducing inrush amperage by up to 75%. This technology allows AC systems to be easily started and efficiently operated with generators and solar power banks, expanding their usability in off-grid locations or during power outages.
Additional Features and Convenience: Beyond its power compatibility features, the Micro Air Easy Start offers convenient features for users. With its built-in Bluetooth module, users can monitor and control the device remotely through a dedicated mobile application. Real-time information on voltage levels, power consumption, and operational status empowers users to optimize their AC system’s performance and energy efficiency.
Conclusion: The Micro Air Easy Start was specifically designed to address the challenges of starting and operating air conditioning systems with generators and solar power banks. By significantly reducing inrush amperage and providing seamless integration with alternative power sources, the Easy Start enables efficient and reliable cooling in off-grid locations, during power outages, or when relying on solar power. This innovative device not only enhances system efficiency but also promotes sustainable energy use. Embracing the Micro Air Easy Start opens up new possibilities for air conditioning systems, allowing them to operate effectively with generators and solar power, and contributing to a greener and more accessible future for cooling technology.
In this video I test and review the MaxPeedingRods MXR 3500 watt inverter generator. I start with showing the contents of the box and then how to fill the inverter generator’s engine with the proper amount and type of oil. Then I take the generator outside and do a sound test with the engine at idle, then at full speed, then again at full speed under full load. The max running watts is 3000 on this particular unit so I did a four stage load test. I started at 750 watts, then I bumped it up to1500 watts, and then again to 2250, and then finally up to 3000 watts of electric heater load. I used an oscilloscope to keep an eye on the perfect 60 hertz wave form, and an electric meter to keep an eye on the voltage during the load test. The generator maintained a perfect 60Hz sinusoidal wave form through the entire load test, and the voltage never dropped below 119.5 volts. In my opinion, this generator scored 100% on all the tests that I performed. In fact the perfect sinusoidal wave form out of this generator looks better than the wave form coming into my house form the local power company. yes, I am serious. lol. This generator also comes with the proper 30amp, 120 volt “RV” style plug right on the front of the unit itself. No more adapters when using this with your camper travel trailer or RV motor home. This inverter generator is JUST ABOUT the exact same size as my 2000 watt inverter generator. I show pictures in the video of this 3500 Watt inverter sitting right next to my 2000 watt inverter and they LOOK almost exactly the same….. The MaxPeedingRods MXR3500 watt inverter generator is very portable! They have maybe designed the best (perfect) inverter generator to be used while camping with your RV. They have provided everything you need, and nothing you don’t need. This has kept the price down, and the portability up!
Be sure to consider this model when shopping for the perfect generator to use while camping in your RV / travel trailer/ camper/ motor home. Or even to have at home for emergency back-up power when the electricity goes out, or the power grid goes down. Having a decent generator on standby and a few gallons of ethanol free gas on hand is never a bad thing. Hey, you never know what can happen…

How To Install A Battery Disconnect Switch On Your Vehicle Without Permanent Modification.
In this video I show how-to install a “Flaming River Big Switch” battery disconnect switch WITHOUT any permanent modification to the vehicle, whatsoever. This vehicle now sits for long periods of time without being driven and I am sick of having a dead battery every time I go to use the truck, which is not very often these days. Modern vehicles are constantly consuming small amounts of energy even when they are turned off to keep the vehicle’s computer alive. Those small amount of energy add up over time and can cause a battery to go dead over long periods of sitting. (or, in storage) The installation in this video can be completely undone and the vehicle is able to go completely back to stock form with no traces of the battery disconnect switch ever being installed. I used the Flaming River Big Switch only because that is what I had sitting on the shelf. It is overkill for this application but it’s what I already had so the price was right. This project can be duplicated with a much cheaper disconnect switch. Also, in this particular installation the vehicle uses a side post battery, with side post battery cables. However, if your vehicle uses a top post battery, with top post battery cables, the process will be very similar, but you will use top post cables instead. So now, as long as I remember to turn the switch off, I should always have a battery with a full charge when I go to drive that truck.
The vehicle in this video is a 2006 GMC 2500 SLE 4×4 with 5.3 gas engine.
The OTOFIX BT1 Lite Smart Battery tester is powered by Autel. In fact, the OTOFIX company is owned by Autel and uses all Autel software and firmware. This device is designed to be used along with an OTOFIX OBD2 scan tool, or you can download the Autel battery tester app and use this battery tester along with your smart device. (phone or tablet) The Autel version of this same product is called the Autel BT506. In this video, I give a demonstration of how to use this device. The Autel battery software generates a nice test report that can be saved via PDF format and then it can be shared via email, or with a QR code via cloud service. (no charge) The battery report can also be printed directly from you scan tool or smart phone if you have wireless printing setup on your local network.
(Spoiler alert: The OTOFIX version of this battery tester is MUCH cheaper than the same battery tester in the Autel version…. at least it was at the time this video was uploaded)
