OTOFIX D1 Lite OBD2 Bidirectional Scan Tool Test and Review. Powered by Autel

Otofix D1 Lite OBD2 Bidirectional Scan Tool test and review. Powered by Autel

The OTOFIX D1 Lite OBDII bidirectional scan tool is powered by Autel. In fact, the OTOFIX brand is owned and sold by Autel/ The scan tool uses 100% Autel diagnostic software. This D1 Lite works and looks just like an Autel 808 scanner, but the hardware is slimmer and lighter weight. Not only do you get the Autel scan tool software in this device, but you get it at a cheaper price than buying it in an Autel device. You also get 2 years of free Autel updates (instead of one year if you buy an Autel scan tool) and the once the free update period update has ended, the updates themselves are cheaper than if this was an Autel scan tool. You get 100% Autel software and service but at a lower price. There really is no negatives to buying an OTOFIX device over an Autel device, but there are many positives. As mention in this video, until recently, I would tell people about a different brand/model of scan tool that was in the “sweet spot” for scan tools when comparing price vs overall functionality. Well, in my opinion, this OTOFIX D1 Lite has just taken over that “sweet spot”. This device is REALLY hard to beat.

I also quickly covered the OTOFIX BT1 Lite smart battery tester in this video. That device is designed to be used along with this scan tool but it will also work with Autel branded scan tools, AND it will also work with you smartphone once the app is downloaded form the App store. I made a separate video about smart battery tester.

In the ever-evolving world of automotive diagnostics, the OTOFIX D1 Lite is a game-changer. This innovative device combines cutting-edge technology with user-friendly features, making it an indispensable tool for mechanics and automotive enthusiasts alike. With its compact design and powerful capabilities, the OTOFIX D1 Lite is set to revolutionize the way diagnostics are conducted.

One of the standout features of the OTOFIX D1 Lite is its extensive vehicle coverage. This diagnostic tool is compatible with a wide range of car makes and models, allowing users to efficiently diagnose and troubleshoot issues across various brands. Whether you’re working on a European luxury car or a domestic vehicle, the OTOFIX D1 Lite has got you covered.

Equipped with advanced diagnostic functions, the OTOFIX D1 Lite enables users to access and analyze a plethora of vehicle data. From reading and clearing diagnostic trouble codes to viewing live data streams and performing component tests, this device offers comprehensive insights into the health of a vehicle. The intuitive interface and responsive touchscreen make navigating through the various functions effortless and efficient.

Another noteworthy feature of the OTOFIX D1 Lite is its wireless connectivity. With built-in Wi-Fi, users can seamlessly update the device’s software and access online resources for enhanced diagnostic capabilities. Additionally, the device supports Bluetooth, allowing for easy connection with other compatible devices, such as smartphones or tablets, for data sharing or remote assistance.

The OTOFIX D1 Lite is not just a diagnostic tool; it’s also a powerful performance analyzer. The device offers an array of special functions, including service resets, adaptations, coding, and programming capabilities. With these features, users can perform advanced tasks like recalibrating sensors, programming new keys, and customizing vehicle settings, taking control of the vehicle’s functionality like never before.

Durability and reliability are paramount when it comes to professional automotive tools, and the OTOFIX D1 Lite delivers on both fronts. Constructed with robust materials and designed to withstand the demands of the workshop environment, this device is built to last. Topdon Aridiag Pro scan tool review and demonstration

Video link: https://youtu.be/8ID5TQd41dU

The new Topdon ArtiDiag Pro bidirectional diagnostic OBD2 scan tool review and demonstration. This automotive scanner is designed to compete with the Xtool D7, the Launch CRP919, and the Autel 808 series of scan tools. This is the sweet spot in Topdon scan tools when it comes to overall functionality VS cost. This tool gets you the most features and functions for the best price in the Topdon lineup. This is a very capable mid-grade scan tool with full bidirectional control, with resets and relearns and live data on all modules but without the price of a pro level dealer grade scan tool. This level of scan tool will pretty much cover 99.8% of all DIY auto repairs, in the hand of the right person. Please keep in mind, scan tools only provide information to the human, it still requires a human to determine how to repair the vehicle. Not all repairs are as simple as plugging in a scan tool and replacing a sensor.

XTOOL IP819 Review. OBDII Diagnostic Scan Tool. New in late 2022

I review the brand new XTOOL IP819 OBD2 diagnostic scan tool. This OBD2 scanner will read and reset all diagnostic trouble codes, (DTC) for every module in the vehicle. This scan tool also has full bidirectional control with actuation tests and special functions such as crank relearn and other system resets. This XTOOL model has basically the same features and functions as the XTOOL D8 but with a 1 inch smaller screen and slightly smaller battery, and of course a lower price.

This tool has a bunch of functionality for the price. If you’re looking for a scan tool with full bidirectional control but you don’t want to break the bank with a tool that has really fancy hardware (like a huge high resolution scree, wirless VCI, etc) then this tool might be for you.

Possible correction: In the video when I am reading the list of specs, when I get the spot where it says “processor: 2 G” I pause for a second and then I say something like “that must be a misprint, the system has 2 gigabytes of ram, and 32 gigabytes of storage”. Well, it is possible that the specs were correct and it actually meant the processor is 2 GHz (gigahertz) which is the speed of the processor. And if that is the case, then it has a newer, faster processor than previous XTOOL models. Sorry for the confusion.

XTOOL IP616 Review. OBDII Diagnostic Scan Tool. New in late 2022.

I review the brand new XTOOL IP616 OBDII diagnostic scan tool. This OBD2 scanner will read and reset all diagnostic trouble codes, (DTC) for every module in the vehicle. This XTOOL code reader will also display live data from all modules in the vehicle. However, it does not feature any bidirectional control. This is what I would call an entry level scan tool. It’s budget friendly and can assist with probably 95% of repairs to most vehicles made in 1996 or newer. OBD2 was federally mandated to be the standard for cars sold in the US for model year 1996, or newer. It’s still that way today. A brand new 2023 vehicle sold inside the USA is OBD2. A lot of low-end code readers (creaders) will only display trouble codes for the PCM (powertrain control module) which is the “computer” that typically only runs the engine and transmission in most vehicles. Well, as cars got newer (from 1996) and more sophisticated, the manufacturers added more and more modules. Nowadays there is a separate module for EVERYTHING in the vehicle. It’s common to have 30+ modules in a vehicle from the 2010’s, and up, and probably 20+ modules in vehicles from the 2000’s. My point is…. again, most low-end code readers will only display codes from only the PCM…. from only ONE module in the vehicle. What do you do when there are codes in another module that the cheap code reader will not display? You need a step up to this type of scan tool. As stated above, this scan tool will display DTCs from ALL modules and display ALL live data, from every module in the vehicle. Nothing worse than having a check engine light on and not being able to retrieve the code because the code reader is too basic to pull the code form the Body control module, BCM. (for example) Or not having access to the fuel pump module to see if there is a fault. Even without bidirectional control, this is still a very helpful scan tool.

Foxwell NT809BT OBDII Diagnostic Scan Tool Review. NEW!

Foxwell NT809BT OBDII Diagnostic Scan Tool Review. NEW! 4K

Foxwell NT809BT OBDII Diagnostic Scan Tool Review. This is a very familiar scanner since I already reviewed the NT809 NON BT several months ago. This new NT809BT is basically the exact same tool, but it’s Bluetooth wireless instead of being a corded tool. This video is a rough overview of the tool since my original review of the original corded tool already exists here on YouTube. This Foxwell OBD2 scanner is a very capable tool with a fair amount of bidirectional control. You can graph live data, save live data, and keep a vehicle history all within the tool itself. This new tool also comes with a blow mold case instead of the hard canvas bag the original Nt809 came in. The tool physically seems very well built with a responsive touchscreen with ample brightness for bright daytime viewing. If you’re in the market for a good scan tool with above average capabilities, make sure you put this one on your list of considerations…. it’s pretty good!
